"Project 33" - Match #88: Sombra, Dorada & Máscara vs. Yujiro, Naito & Okumura

La Sombra, Máscara Dorada & La Máscara vs. Yujiro Takahashi, Tetsuya Naito & Okumura

Korakuen Hall; Tokyo, Japan
CMLL Trios Championship Match

The main event of the second night of Fantasticamania 2011.

In addition to the potential for this to be an awesome match, I also watched this to see how Mascara would rebound from his disastrous first night.  Supposedly he had a concussion from the first night, which would normally mean he wouldn't be wrestling here (right?), but I thik he did this because it was the main event of a pretty damn important show.  When Mascara missed his early dive, it looked like a repeat of the night before, but in reality he seemed to rebound pretty well and everything else he did looked very solid.

Sombra was very solid in this match, but the showcase spotlight here went to Mascara Dorada, who, despite a bad knee, pulled off some incredible moves here.  His DDT that ended the first fall was spectacular.  No Limit looked very solid and had some excellent double team moves, but Okumura was actually the workhouse in this match.  Okumura always gets a push in Mexico when they are working a big angle with the Japanese talent, but his work in the two Fantasticamania shows proved to me that he is a pretty damn valuable commodity for CMLL to have.  He was obviously paired off with Mascara in this match to help him recover from his disaster the night before, which is a task that you give to a solid hand like Okumura, and he was successful.

Overall, this match probably wasn't strong enough to main event a show that was goingto get as much attention as this one did, but it was a pretty solid effort all around.
